Endowments
Every
autumn, when students enroll in Eugene District 4J schools, your gift
will be there to help them. A gift of any size may be added
to the endowment of your choice; if you’re interested in establishing a
new endowment please call David Meredith, Executive Director, at (541)

District-wide programs
-The
District Fund supports
Diagnostic Reading Kits, which address the district’s priority
of high literacy at all grade levels, and other priorities of
the district as a whole. |
|
Music
- So that the joy of music is sustained during
middle-school years, the Nathan
Dickman Memorial Music Fund was created. Earnings
provide instruction, sheet music and instruments.
Benefits now rotate among schools; as the fund grows, all will benefit
every year.

Field Trips
- So that all children can use the wider world as a place to
learn, the Field Trip Fund
was created. Earnings go to all schools in proportion to their
size and the financial needs of their students. |
|
Urgent Needs
- The Margaret Nichols Fund
honors the lifetime contributions of the late Dr. Nichols, 4J
Superintendent until 1997. Earnings give principals a fund from
which they can quickly pay for a particular student’s school
supplies, health care, or other urgent need. |

Enrichment activities at South Eugene High
- So that
more students can benefit from clubs, sports and classes for
which fees are charged, the SEHS
Alumni Fund Endowment was created. Beneficiaries
include students who otherwise could not afford participation.
|
|
Writing - So that students learn the power of words, the
Writing Fund was
created. Earnings are used to fund activities identified by the
4J Instruction Department. |

Be a friend of 4J, and help find new ones
– To speed the development of new resources, by finding new
friends of 4J, the Development
Fund was created. Earnings are used to boost the
number of contacts made each year by volunteers and staff.
