Leadership Training

Jefferson Middle School

Sixteen students have joined a Harassment Abatement Committee. They will design activities that encourage students to stand up against bullying and harassment.

Why Is This Important

When young people take responsibility for their learning environment they develop real-world conflict resolution skills that are life long. They learn how to make a substantial difference in the climate of their school and community. They have ownership in what's goes on, decision making, and feel more connected to staff, student, and the learning experience. They are empowered by creating and implementing solutions that will impact their day to day routine as students. They mature and become responsible citizens.

How will you evaluate the success of this project?
